WORD. 1 And the WORD was made flesh. John 1:14 The Creator became the created. He was that force and power which spoke everything in the universe into existence. Aside from His work of creation nothing was created. John 1:3 Not only is He responsible for the creation of the earth and the heavenly bodies. He also brought forth those things which pertain to heaven. ALL things were created by Him and for Him. The magnitude of His greatness cannot be measured or comprehended by the natural mind. Col. 1:16 He became the very thing that He had brought into being. Body, soul and spirit, a triune man. We sing Amazing Grace, but little do we realize the great magnitude of that grace. Incidentally, it is probably the only hymn known by most. It is sung so often at times of great tragedy. He came bringing grace and truth to mankind. Revealed in that body of flesh, is to be found the absolute, the complete, the epitome of grace and truth. There is no other source whereby these two elements are available to Human kind. John 1:17 Salvation is accomplished in man by the WORD. The only possibility of a second birth is made possible by the Word. As the Spirit impregnated the virgin Mary with the Word, so the heart of the repentant is the recipient of the Word and it brings forth life everlasting. We are all born of the flesh into this life. We may enter into life eternal, the world to come, only by virtue of the new birth. In the natural, there must be a seed to produce life. So it is with the spiritual, there must be the seed of the Word implanted within the heart to bring forth a spiritual being. 1 Pet. 1:23 Healing and deliverance is also accomplished by the Word. The promises of the Lord are indeed yea and amen. He is duty bound to complete every promise given in His Word. His word was commissioned to come into the world with the explicit purpose of bringing healing to the body, soul and spirit of mankind. Ps. 107:20 The Apostle Matthew was greatly impressed by the healing phase of the ministry of the Lord Jesus. He recorded a list of the afflictions common to man and wrote that "He healed them." Mt. 4:24 He gave as a source or cause the compassion of the Lord Jesus. No greater concern or empathy can be found than that of Jesus. Mt. 14:14 Healing was made possible by the beating that He took from His captors. Isaiah and Peter both proclaim that by His stripes we are healed. Isa. 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24 Forty stripes was the limit established by the Law. Deut. 25:3 Seeing as He heals ALL our diseases, He must have taken the full complement of forty stripes. incomplete 07:19 15/01/2006 formatting edited eof
